Capri Redevelopment

The Capri Redevelopment is part of the City of Kelowna’s long-term plans to create a key urban centre and transportation node.

This 19.5-acre site has long been the location of a commercial mall and hotel, but has been reimagined as a vibrant mixed-use community with increased density and improved walkability. We contributed to the successful development permit application for the first phase of this 30-year redevelopment. The landscape for this first phase, which includes townhomes and a residential tower, sets the tone of the future community with carefully-considered public and private interfaces, treed boulevards, and a unique combination of plantings, sculptural features, and extensive green roof visible from both the street level and the upper floors of the tower. An outdoor living room concept for a shared amenity space allows both semi-private and communal uses.
